Magnesium is often overlooked when it comes to relationship between minerals and health, hence the large prevelance of deficiency in the general population. This is why it's crucial to give yourself the Magnesium your body needs.

Magnesium Malate is a combination of magnesium with malic acid, a weak organic acid naturally found in vegetables and fruit, especially apples. The weak bond with magnesium makes it readily soluble in the body, and it has unique chelating effects, binding to harmful metals. Additionally it is the key component of several energy making chemical reactions. Magnesium Malate has been successfully used to treat chronic fatigue, and pain associated with fibromyalgia. Slight deficiencies both in magnesium and malic acid are found with fibromyalgia patients, a common disease affecting mainly women in their fifties.

Why magnesium is so fundamental is due to its requirement in more than 300 enzyme systems that regulate diverse biochemical reactions in the body, including protein synthesis, muscle and nerve function, blood glucose control, and blood pressure regulation. Magnesium is required for energy production and also contributes to the structural development of bone and is required for the synthesis of DNA, RNA, and, the antioxidant glutathione. Magnesium also plays a role in the active transport of calcium and potassium ions across cell membranes, a process that is important to nerve impulse conduction, muscle contraction, and normal heart rhythm.
