5-MTHF+ ( 60 Vegetable Capsules ) provides two fully active, methylated B-vitamins to support optimal cellular function and energy metabolism. It includes:

L-5-Methyltetrahydrofolic Acid/ L-5-MTHF is the biologically active form of folate that bypasses the MTHFR conversion step. Also known as active folate, it is essential for healthy red blood cell formation, methylation, homocysteine regulation/reduction and DNA synthesis.

Methylcobalamin (Vitamin B12) is the biologically active form of B12 . This form is ready to be used, requiring no further transformation. It supports energy production, nervous system function, red blood cell development, and homocysteine metabolism.

Together, there methylated B-vitamins work to promote enhanced absorption, greater bioavailability, and superior metabolic activity compared to other forms like folic acid and cyanocobalamin.

Genetics and Methylation

Some people have natural genetic variations in an enzyme called MTHFR (Methylenetetrahydrofolate Reductase). This enzyme is responsible for converting folic acid and natural folate into their active, usable form  5-MTHF.

Signs of MTHFR variation (also called a mutation or polymorphism):

       Folate conversion becomes less efficient

Levels of active folate (5-MTHF) may be lower.

       Homocysteine levels may become elevated

       Reduced energy or mood imbalances

These variations are very common — up to 40% of the population has some degree of reduced MTHFR activity. Because these individuals cannot efficiently convert folic acid, they benefit from supplementing with 5-MTHF, the already active form of folate that requires no conversion and is immediately usable by the body.
