Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera), also known as Indian ginseng, is a traditional herb used in Ayurvedic medicine. It is classified as a Rasayana (rejuvenating tonic) and is commonly described as an adaptogen—a substance that helps support the body's response to mental and physical stress.
